Our History

Established in 2023 by student organizers Riya Ranjan and Ashton Woods at Stanford University, the Survivors Pro Bono is a legal organizing initiative born out of a need for better support for survivors in university Title IX systems. Initially created within the community in Dr. Michele Dauber’s class One in Five: Campus Policies of Sexual Violence, our work was inspired by the organizing of survivors and allies before us, including Chanel Miller, Alexis Kallen, and Lee Francis. Our goal is to be a block in the foundational infrastructure necessary to prevent sexual violence on college campuses, and support survivors.
